My Bio
…a teacher by profession, a perpetual student in all things that interest me and –since 2008- a landscape photographer by passion. Photography changed my life in more ways than I could have imagined, it opened a door to a whole new reality, a new way of seeing and appreciating the world around me, a new philosophy and way of life. In photography you learn to focus on what’s important, excluding from your frame the insignificant or ugly elements of a scene. That’s not so far from how people should live their life.

Photography is for me a reason to wake up before the sun comes up, a reason to explore and discover new places and enjoy them in all their beauty. Most importantly it's the means to collect experiences and memories. Sometimes I'm able to transform those experiences and memories into an image I can share. Other times they just remain as images in my mind. They are equally real to me either way.

Hello my devious, deviant friends, I wonder how many of you are still here, still following or still caring about anything I have to say after all this time I have been away  The thing is that there has been a lot of traveling around this past few months (not complaining of course)… which made DA messages pile up (not complaining of course)… which caused some anxiety attacks whenever I returned home about how on earth I was going to reply, thank, comment, watch, younameit… which was resolved by simply doing nothing… which resulted in feeling too ashamed even to post something new… and the messages ke

… and a publication in Asian Photography India for "Destination Photo-Paradise: Greece" Yes, you could say this last month was a good one. It has had its really terrible moments too though… I won't go into non-photography matters, let me just confess my sins… About a month ago I got a mail from smibs.tv, asking me to appear live as their guest at their Fine Art Photography Weekly show, a popular on-line photography show that has already featured some great photographers. I guess anyone in their right minds would have been overwhelmed with joy and lost sleep due to excitement and anticipation. "In their RIGHT minds" are the ke

… and I promise this will be a short journal for once since I really should be packing right now… Funny, I’ve noticed that I can’t leave without posting a journal asking you for “good light” wishes, maybe I’m superstitious… *makes mental note to discuss it with her shrink* *deletes the previous mental note and makes a note to first find a shrink* oook, let’s break this title apart… Under the Red in Digital Camera: My first long exposure and very first big DA “hit” Under the Red :thumb109534869: is featured in the Hotshots of this month’s Digital Camera World issue 109, March

I just wrote a gushing comment on your write-ups. I hit the wrong thing and gone. I have ADHD and could never write like that. It would take so long depending heavily on spell-check. Your Photography is amazing as well. Write photography because as you know it is Art. You print and display on the wall. Most take snapshots and put them on the fridge! Ha! Good Luck, you will do great and I hope you are still here to see this comment!

I do not know if you are still entering here. But I missed to see your astounding images of abandoned shored ships where I saw them first time. Here. 10 years ago.

Stay safe, Kirki... I wish you all the happiness of the world.
