Artist's Comments

Dark thoughts, dark art, dark night
I’m tired and I have no fight.
Dark poetry, dark words
His photos were a bright spot.
The light attracted me.
Water and sky get my favor
So I look and I savor the light, the beach, the sky.
Photographer, come and laugh with me.
Laughter and light is how I think of your art.
What can I say?
You came and laughed with me
You were a bright spot in my day.

I’m leaving in two days and probably won’t be back for at least three weeks, so I thought I’d leave you with one of my “sentimental value” shots as a farewell.

This shot was taken on February 14, 2009. Yep, St Valentine’s day and frankly I can’t imagine of a better way to spend such a day, or any day for that matter. True, the day was too cloudy to hope for any kind of color and drama in the sky but it was such a lovely afternoon to stay inside and I really wanted to show this place to *KirlianCamera as it always had a very special place in my heart and memories. I wasn’t into the mood for serious photography seeing how colorless the day was so I just strolled along, trying to locate the ducks (yes, this is the place where Splish Splash was shot and yes SnowWhite is still there) when I noticed this rock formation. I liked their symmetry (shameless confession I thought at the time that they seemed to form a heart but I guess it was a side effect of the day :blushes: ) so I thought I’d give it a shot (pan intended).

Indeed that sunset gave no color to the clouds, only the faintest hint of some pink here and there but I liked this shot precisely because of its cool tones. I hope it isn’t too much of a shock to you :giggle:

Hope you enjoy your visit here!

PS This photo is dedicated to ~LavenderMystt for naming it and “dressing” it with her poem and to the photographer who is the bright spot in my days.

An over-done idea, but this is just amazing.

The colours, the lighting, it looks almost perfect.

And I can see the heart, so don't worry :)

I love how the water and sky are smooth but the rocks are rough and jagged--such a nice contrast! Beautiful!
